If you learn Sharpshooter’s methods of dice control or rhythmic rolling, craps becomes not only a beatable game but a money maker for the player!
Here’s what this amazing book will teach you:
• How to Set the Dice: You will learn how to arrange the dice before you shoot to maximize the numbers you want and/or minimize the 7.
• How to Grip the Dice: You will learn how to minimize release drag and finger friction.

Something New in the Field of Gaming
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
On a recent trip to Las Vegas, I stopped by the Gambler's Book Store for a look. The gentleman there asked if he could help me, and when I replied that I was just looking to see what was new out there, he opined that there was really nothing new to be written in gaming for the traditional table games.
I would like to think that Sharpshooter's book is something new. Sure, controlled or rhythmic throwing and setting are not new topics. What is new is the integration of all elements and presents to the crap player with an open mind the actual techniques that can be done by anyone willing to put in the time to practice and fully understand and integrate all that is presented. While another reviewer mentions that more in depth presentations have been made by other authors such as Scoblete and others, I doubt if any of them presents it in as systematic and as simple as Sharpshooter does here.
There are people that believe that all dice throws are random and nothing we can do can influence that. This book will probably not change your mind. But to those that are open, there are mathematical and logical presentations, as well as rigid mechanics arguments that would have you think that it can be possible. For those that are open to that, this book will detail exactly how you can learn to do it.
As a disclaimer, I have to reveal that I have taken a course taught by Sharpshooter and have seen these things in a casino, as well as had a beginning level of success commensurate to my experience. I will say that the book contains almost everything that was presented in the course materials, with nothing held back. I am a health professional, and my educational background is strongly weighted in the science and mathematical fields. The arguments that Sharpshooter presents are mathematically and physically sound. Everything that Sharpshooter presents in his seminar is here, save the personal instruction on your personal mechanics.
You will not be able to control the dice 100% of the time. Even Randy Johnson doesn't strike out every single batter he faces. But by controlling the outcome of as little as 1 throw in 43 will put you at break even with the casino. Any better than this yields a positive edge in the casino. Compare that to what card counters experience as an edge in blackjack.
For someone that is looking for a different approach to craps than the standard money management angles, this is a book that can give them something new.
Scoblete and Sharpshooter = A Winning Bet!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
For years Frank Scoblete has been the premier craps author in the world. The very first book I read by him introduced a concept called rhythmic rolling that I had never thought about. Now, a decade later, rhythmic rolling is known by many names and many players wish they could do it. Scoblete paved the way and this new book in his Get the Edge line by the mysterious Sharpshooter rides the road Scoblete and his mysterious mentor, the Captain, paved. [I sometimes wonder if the mysterious Captain and now the mysterious Sharpshooter aren't just Frank Scoblete psuedonyms.] Get the Edge at Craps is just an incredible analysis of what you need to know and to do to achieve a controlled dice roll.
This isn't some mystical formula or betting scheme, rhythmic rolling is a skill and Sharpshooter really teaches you that skill in this book. My guess is that most people who read the book won't have the discipline or take the time necessary to really perfect the rhythmic roll but that those who do will actually have an edge on the casinos. I think if you use Scoblete's 5-Count with Sharpshooter's delivery system, you are going to be a real threat to the casinos.
One last thing. It is really great to see such intelligent books on craps. Most of the craps books I've read have been crap. This book is a must for anyone interested in trying to actually win at the game of craps.
Pretty Good!
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
This book gives you what you need to know--how to grip, properly throw, and aim dice so you can overcome the casino's odds advantage. The author explains all about the house advantage, smart and not-so-smart bets, how to manage your money, and how to prepare and conduct yourself. This is not an overnight success guide--you should expect to put in months of practice and training to get results. There is some mathematical analysis of probabilities and odds, plus an explanation of the physics involved. All in all, the author makes a comprehensive examination of the entire game of craps, without getting too confusing or boring. I will probably keep using it as a reference for improving my game over the next year or so.
A Genuine Gem of a Book!

After reading "Get the Edge at Craps", I finally realize what I have witnessed first hand while vacationing on different occasions in Las Vegas. SharpShooter does know what he is talking about. He even details the experience and the confluences that shape the outcome of the dice.
What I like best about the book is the fact that you can pick it up right away and easily read through it and later get into greater detail about the many variables that contribute to a great roll of the dice. Frank Scoblete is to be commended for his great editorial talents in polishing this book. Second of all, I don't think the casinos really understand the legitimacy of SharpShooters' method that anyone can learn. This book will definitely improve your game and give the average player a perceived advantage in something that is otherwise a random event.
The method that works for me is the three and two V-setup after the point is established plus the box cars aligned on the Come-Out roll. I am still working on a smooth delivery however which does take time to master?
The details about the physics involved in throwing the dice are intriguing to anyone mechanically inclined. The history and craps fundamentals are also especially helpful to the novice and professional alike.
If you want to play like a pro or pretend to know what you are doing then the $10+ dollars is well spent on this book. The casinos will always invent ways to keep the advantage that they have over everyone who comes to play. The methods described by SharpShooter can only level the playing field in a game that is fast-paced to begin with where money is won or lost in the span of a few minutes not hours.
This is One of Two Text Books for Craps
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I just took the Golden Touch craps dice control course with Sharpshooter and Frank Scoblete in Tunica, Mississippi. This book and Frank's Forever Craps were the text books for the course. They are must reading if you want to learn the basics of dice control and how to bet on random rollers when they are shooting. I also recommend their course. You can go to their website ... to find out more about it, but don't take the course until you have thoroughly read this book and Scoblete's book. They are both great books.
A must read for any serious craps player
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This book is a must have for any person who want to play and win at craps. I read the book and followed the instructions provided for using the dice and betting and I did great. I would play craps when I went to the casino and lost most of the time, now when I go to the casino and play craps I win most of the time. The book goes into detail concerning how to handle and throw the dice, practice to improve your skills, and the best ways to bet on yourself and others. As indicated in the book you must practice first before going to the tables and be more disciplined at the tables when it comes to betting.
The book is not at all difficult to follow because they wrote the book for both beginner and experienced players. I had no problems with understanding how to hold and control the dice with the information written in the book. The book covers how to play the game, how all of the different bets work, odds for each of the bets, and the best bets to make and not to make. All of the information in the book concerning which bets to make and not to make is backed up with plenty of data and statistics.
Scoblete's "Forever Craps" and "Beat the Craps Out of the Casinos" Are Better
Rating:3 out of 5 stars
The first person to write about dice control was Frank Scoblete in his first two books, "Beat the Craps Out of the Casinos" in 1990 and in "The Captain's Craps Revolution" in 1993.
"Forever Craps," published in 2000, is his best book because it gives a whole way to play for advanced players that is called the 5-step method, which includes dice control and how to bet on the other players.
Sharpshooter's book "Get the Edge at Craps" is good but not as good as "Forever Craps." The Yuri book on dice control that is mentioned in another review was not the first dice control book but is a self published mess that really is an embarrassment to read because of all the errors in it in grammar, spelling and how to play - which is the worst thing, bad advice in how to play.
Get "Forever Craps" and you will learn what you need to know. The other book I would recommend is "The Craps Underground," also by Scoblete.
Sharpshooter's book is good but it isn't at the level of "Forever Craps" or "Beat the Craps Out of the Casinos" or "Craps Underground." But it is far better than Yuri's hopeless mess of a book because Sharpshooter is an engineer and understands the physics of a controlled throw.
Great book

Great from basic rules to detailed strategy...will be a resource that you will circle back to over time
Must Read For Craps Players
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Frank Scoblete mentions in his foreword that Sharpshooter has picked up where the Captain of craps has left off. After reading this book TWICE already I have to agree. The only way to beat craps is through controlled shooting, or, as Scoblete calls it, rhythm rolling. Sharpshooter goes into every aspect of how to do this. You learn about the proper grip, the proper dice sets, and how to gently throw the dice so that your sets stay in order. I have to say this book is right up there with Scobletes book Forever Craps because Sharpshooter is talking about real ways to get an edge on the casinos and not just betting systems. This is a must read for anyone who is the least bit serious about craps. In my opinion, its an instant classic.
I'd pass on this one
Rating:3 out of 5 stars
This book is alright and teaches what you want to know but I recommend "Golden Touch Dice Control" over this one. They basically talk about all the same information except this book goes into more detail about math formulas which I really don't care about, I just want to learn how to throw the dice.
Also I don't recommend getting both books, pick one or the other as they contain basically identical information.
Just one is written by the best out there and this one is written by the guy that proved it all. I thought I'd prefer this book over the other one for that reason but in the end I liked Golden Touch better.
Again Great
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This book is great for both rookie and advanced craps players. As always, Scoblete has masterfully explained the game and how to "get the edge". I have also read Yuri's book and in my opinion anyone with a brain can figure out that throwing from the end of the table is ridiculous. If you believe Yuri, all the better for me to get the correct position on the table and WIN!
Just a commercial
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
The book is just bragging about his ability and trying to convince you to take the seminar to actually learn "the secrets". Don't waste your money.
It Does Work
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I have only played craps 4 times and all I know about the game came from books by Frank Scoblete. I read and re-read this book several times, bought some dice and practiced the hardway set and the 3-V set(used by the Captian). I played for 8 hours and had some great rolls, one time rolling 8 four times in a row. My best roll lasted about 10 minutes (seemed like 100 minutes) I made $500.00 my bigest win to date.

Great Book
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
This is a great book and the best of the bunch when it comes to analyzing dice control. The reviewer who cites Heavy as an authority on craps or controlled shooting must have spent time in the prisoner of war camp of Hogan's Heroes. What a joke!
Sharpshooter is an engineer who fully understands the math and physics behind a controlled throw, something that other writers of self-published books mentioned below, do not.
This is worth reading.
Great book to start with but it is only the beginning
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I read this book cover to cover in the two weeks preceding a trip to Vegas. It has some great information regarding the game of craps and sharpshooting but definitely has some biases on what part of the table to shoot from and dice grips that could have been approached differently. After getting through the book I setup a small practice rig, rolled and recorded hundreds of dice throws attempting to use this method of shooting the dice. I will say that it does have an effect on the end result because I recorded ratios of how often the 7 came up far below the average 1 in 6.
A couple of years ago I started to set the dice (now that I know proper sets these were wrong combos) as well as throw them the same way as possible every time. Which lead me to become interested in anything that could be done to expand knowledge in this area, after getting through this book I felt I understood the concept quite a bit more but was still skeptical of it actually working. I signed up for a private class in Vegas and had some personal instruction along many practice rolls on a real craps table. Using the hardway set (described in the book as 4 4 up and 6 6 facing the outside) I rolled a total of 3 craps numbers out of 200 shots with a sevens to roll ratio of around 1:12 (which is extremely high and will most likely average lower over a longer period of time). The thing that surprised me is the drastic decrease of the craps numbers by placing the 6 and the 1 on the outside of the dice (craps numbers are 2, 3 and 12 - taking the 1 and 6 out of the equation makes it very hard to roll a craps number) with that particular set.
I was also able to play in an actual casino with 2 other sharpshooters and noticed we were the only ones who made profits for anyone betting with the dice. The rest of the time we bet against them and counted on the other shooters to 7 out every time. This of course isn't a science (betting on other shooters) since sometimes they will go into streaks. On my last night in Vegas I also ended up shooting 28 passes, made 5 point numbers and came out with a 7 twice when I set for it. Players at the table who religiously bet against the dice actually switch sides on my roll or picked up and left the table all together. I wasn't able to get any of the good positions stated in the book of stick right or left, even one off from either position at any time that night. Which forced me to shoot from the outside hook or corner of the table, I was still able to pull it off to some degree.
Even though I had a spectacular hand in one casino, I am still in the infancy stage of sharpshooting the dice which is also referred to as "Dice Control". You will find that you cant really control the dice but you can influence them and decrease your odds of rolling the 7 at the wrong time. I recommend reading this book as well as signing up for a class. The additional tips I learned with the one on one instruction helped me a great deal as well as reinforced techniques in the book. The book really is not enough to conquer the Craps table, but is essential before even starting down this path of craps play.
Excellent technical discussion and system
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This text is an excellent one for anyone interested in dice control. It explains all the basics of betting craps, but the real meat is the second part. A complete explanation of controlled shooting is given, along with a training schedule, statistical tests, and advanced dice sets. A MUST READ for anyone attempting to beat the game of craps.
So much potential, but sadly disappointed
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
I've read a great deal of material on dice setting and controlled throwing. The early books on this same subject, though not as slick looking, address this topic more fully. If you want the real deal on dice setting and rhythmn rolling, stick with the classic books which started it all, Scoblete, Feinberg and Kononenko. Very disappointed.
Craps Taught The Way It Should Be!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Frank Scoblete's (Get The edge at Craps) is a very well written guide to craps, amatures and pros a like can enjoy this book. The Game is taught in great detail along with some very useful pointers the casinos don't readily advertise. As a reader progresses though the chapters even a long time craps shooter can stand to benefit from the helpful gaming techniques taught by Frank. I highly recommend this book to all patrons of the great game of craps.
Saw Scoblete, Dominator and Sharpshooter on Television
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I saw the recent History Channel Show titled "Dice Dominator" about Scoblete, Dominator and Sharpshooter and the creation of the Golden Touch craps dice control and I was very intrigued by the concept of dice control for beating casino craps. I remember seeing these three on another show where they beat the casinos at craps too while a second group of shooters lost because they were not as good as the Golden Touch team.
I have always loved the game of craps and have been playing and losing at it for 30 years! Maybe I can now change all that?
The book "Get the Edge at Craps" is a detailed look at how to create a controlled throw. It gives excellent recommendations on where to stand, how to grip the dice and how to give the dice the necessary backspin. I read this book and then I read Scoblete's "Forever Craps" and "The Craps Underground" which I think are the superior books. Scoblete gives you a complete method for dealing with the casinos in "Forever Craps" and in "Craps Underground" he takes you on a great trip into the world of the Golden Touch controlled shooters.
Sharpshooter's book spends too much time on trivia. With that said, I definitely recommend the book to be read in conjunction with Scoblete's books as this will give you a full picture of dice control.
I am really looking forward to reading Scoblete and Dominator's upcoming book "Golden Touch Dice Control Revolution!" which I think will be the best of all of them. I pre-ordered it already!
The only way to beat the casinos is to use dice control. That has been firmly established. These books are the best I have read on the subject and are must-reads for craps players who are looking to get the edge.
Get the Edge at Craps
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This is a fantastic learning tool for vocabulary, odds, percentages, setting the dice, gripping the dice, throwing the dice and betting strategies.
Good book but there are better ones to buy
Rating:3 out of 5 stars
I expected this book to be better than it was. I found Sharpshooter's writing a little laborious and he took way too much time retelling rather dull tales of his great rolls. That's the downer part of the book. If you aren't a good writer, you should stay away from telling your great stories because those stories are dull when read.
On the other hand the book is quite good giving the basics of a controlled throw and has excellent math in it but overall the book was something of a disappointment. The best part of the book was the Foreword by Frank Scoblete who has an exciting style of writing.
I am actually looking forward to the new dice control book "The Golden Touch Dice Control Revolution!" written by Frank Scoblete and Dominator.
I have read all the important books on dice advantage play: "Beat the Craps Out of the Casinos," "Forever Craps," and "The Craps Underground." These three were all outstanding books and I would recommend that you read them in this order.
I do recommend that you read Sharpshooter's book but AFTER you read the others I mention above. It is somewhat slow going owing to Sharpshooter's writing style but he has good information in the book. It is not a complete attack on the casino game of craps as Scoblete's books are but it is still a valuable book to read.
There are some other books out there on craps but none of them are really worth buying. Some are just plain awful, including others that try to teach dice control. Stick with Scoblete and Sharpshooter for now and then get the new book about the golden touch craps by Scoblete and Dominator.
That is your craps curriculum.
The other part of control
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This book excellently decribes the mechanics of developing a controled toss, and then takes you to the next level by helping you to understand focus; i.e., how to control your nerves. Zone and focus are elusive concepts not easily mastered. This book helps greatly in these areas.
Dice Control from the Scoblete Camp
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
The insular world of "dice control" is divided into several bitterly opposed camps. Who knows what they disagree with each other about, but believe me, you don't want to get into the middle of it. This offering by the "Sharpshooter" comes from the Scoblete camp. I enjoyed the book. I found it to be a good overall introduction to dice-setting and so-called rhythmic rolling. Recommended.
Sharpshooters secrets
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
A must read for anybody who really wants achance to beat the game. The only way you could possibly learn more about throwing dice would be to attend one of his seminars. I've attend two of those and still learned things from the book. This is not your ordinary learn to play craps book. This book is enlightening and if you practice the methods you can perform at the dice tables like you never had before. Truly the ultimate book on playing craps.
This Book + Golden Touch Dice Control Book = Course
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Use this book to compliment the Golden Touch Dice Control Book and you will pretty much have the complete course without the instructors. I read the negative reviews, and let me tell you that this book gives a few pointers that the other book does not have, and it has improved my throwing tremendously.
I have been throwing off and on since Augustr 07; in October the same year I shot dice in Vegas and landed a Hardway bet that someone else had placed and won that person quite a bit of money; nothing too serious, but the crowd went nuts! My longest roll then was at least 14 before the 7! I had to stop after that due to personal reasons. Anyways, I began practicing regularly again in July 08. I shoot on a 12"x12" board with a 12"x12" wall with pyramid rubber backing, and land the dice on the board pretty consistantly after reading this book. If you have tried, or try to, throw on a board that small with no side walls, it is hella hard to land the dice; however, like I stated before, I am beginning to become very consistant on having the dice hit the wall and still have the dice die on the board. Believe me or not, its up to you. It's A LOT of hard work, but this works.
P.S. I practice at least 2 hours a day, just to give you an idea of how many hours I have invested. I'm going back to Vegas in December and am confident that with a sufficient bankroll, that I will walk away from that trip a winner =)

Sharpshooter simplifies the confusing complex craps table into an easy to understand diagram that should have many novices trying their luck at what was before a mystery maze to them. He moves quickly and interestingly from that to transposition, the PHD course for veteran crap shooters. PS from Florida
No, Thanks !

I was overwhelmed by the rating of this book and had a "B I G" expectation from this book but I was disappointed because of the following reasons:
1) Author discusses the art of physically "controlling" the dice without a real picture !! He added some picture for dice setting but as far as the gripping and shooting are concerned there are only two "free hand" drawing (can you believe ? amateurish free hand pencil drawing) to "make you understand" the correct grip and throw - two most important aspects of dice control.
2) Why he gave less info on the most critical aspect? Because he conducts a costly seminar on the same topic ($300) and this book is nothing but the "sales pitch" of the same seminar.
3) I found more information on dice setting and dice grip FREE on the following website: dicecoach dot com
Bottom line: You will learn nothing about dice control after you finish this book.
Suggestion : Buy the book "Forever Craps" to learn the game and then take a dice control seminar (if you are serious about gambling and can afford $300 on a 2 hour seminar). Save $10 bucks!
