This book is for all those who have been hurt by political division, offended by weak and faulty Christians, abused by money-hungry charlatans, imprisoned by rules of men and led astray by non-essentials in the name of the Church. Because of the sins of the Church, some people have erroneously concluded that Christianity itself is crap. An enlightening "Must Read"... well researched and no-nonsense.

Do you know why you believe what you believe? How about your neighbor? Many of us see our faith through the lenses of our upbringing, our familial relationships and our education. However, few of us are properly educated in the history of our Christian faith to the point of being able to understand the "why's and wherefores" of the Bible. Mr. Spong uses his education to create a sort of "Cliff Notes" version of the reasons why there are so many different churches to choose from... and gets down to the "nitty gritty" of what is and isn't important in making decisions about your faith and how you view the faith of others. An easy read that should bring more Christians closer together and allow more cooperation to the true mission of The Church.
