Bingo has been re-born. Over the past 10 years, inline with the growth in the popularity of the internet bingo has boomed to be one of the biggest pastimes of many people, covering all age groups. Bingo used to be a game for your Grandma to play, forcing you to sit with her and her friends on a wet Sunday afternoon playing game after game of Bingo. But things have changed greatly since then and although the game is the same as it used to be it has been spruced up somewhat and brought up to date.

The growth in Bingo has been brought on by the growth in popularity of the online game where you can sit in the comfort of your own home and play for hours on end at any number of varieties of the game. Online bingo is huge business and has grown in popularity to almost be as big as poker. The attraction of bingo over poker is that you do not have to know any complicated rules, card hands, betting sequences or techniques for bingo, you simply dab off the number on your bingo card as it is displayed on the screen.

Bingo may sound a little dull but when the numbers are flying at you and you only need one more to fill a bingo card then it can be really exciting. Bingo halls up and down the country are seeing a huge increase in the numbers of people of all ages who are coming through the doors once more.

Bingo does not only have to be played using the standard bingo cards and numbers, it can be played using themed bingo cards and instead of numbers you can play the game using words to help educate children. Instead of calling numbers in the normal way you can call out equations and sums with the answers being the numbers on the cards. The children have to work out the equation to discover the number.

Themed bingo cards offer a nice touch to any game that is being played around a special occasion such as winter, summer, fall, spring, Christmas, Easter and birthdays. Themed bingo cards can add a little more fun to a game.

You can download and print your themed bingo cards from sites that are on the internet but occasionally you may struggle to find cards that match your theme. To overcome this problem it is possible to purchase software from the internet that is specially designed to help you create your very own themed bingo cards. These themed bingo cards are really easy to create and enable you to have a themed bingo game to your own specification.

Bingo is a game that is so easy to pick up and play that it can be played by people of all ages, as long as you can understand numbers then you can play bingo, and although you have to be of the legal age to gamble to play online bingo for money there is nothing to stop you creating and printing off your very own themed bingo cards and having a game at home with all the family.

Enjoying a family game of bingo with your themed bingo cards can be hours of fun for all the family and can be linked in with any family or social event that you may be holding so why not create your own themed bingo cards and start playing bingo today.

George Gershwin plays George Gershwin George Gershwin plays George Gershwin

The first of these two discs gathers all Gershwin's commercially issued discs as a pianist, including the two abridged Rhapsody in Blue traversals, Gershwin accompanying the Astaire siblings, and twelve solo sides. Hearing the composer play his own music is like getting your ears cleaned out from 75 years of interpretive maulings. Gershwin's crisp touch, clear-cut and unsentimental phrasing, and rhythmic verve comes through more convincingly in these flat discs than in his much-vaunted piano rolls. Also included are the composer-supervised first recordings of An American in Paris and selections from Porgy & Bess, along with a flawed yet revelatory aircheck of Gershwin playing the finale of his concerto. No Gershwin lover should be without this important collection. --Jed Distler

Be smart, play smart, learn how to play casino craps the right way!

3-Way Craps is like Any Craps in that it's a one-roll bet that wins if a 2, 3, or 12 appears and loses with any other number. However, it's actually three separate one-roll bets disguised as one: a bet on the 2, a bet on the 3, and a bet on the 12. Therefore, your 3-Way Craps bet amount should be divisible by three. For example, if you make a $6 3-Way Craps bet, the dealer puts $2 on the 2, $2 on the 3, and $2 on the 12. The minimum bet amount for each of the three numbers (i.e., 2, 3, and 12) is the value of the lowest-denomination chip in play at the table, usually $1. So, since your bet amount should be divisible by three, the smallest 3-Way Craps bet you can make is $3.

The 3-Way Craps bet is controlled by the stickman, so keep your hands off. The 2, 3, and 12 boxes are clearly marked in the proposition area. When you have the stickman's attention, gently toss your chips to an open area near the center of the table and say, "Three-way Craps, please." Aim for an empty spot on the table so your chips don't mess up other chips on the table.

If a 2 shows, the payoff is 30:1; and your 3 and 12 lose. If a 12 shows, the payoff is 30:1; and your 2 and 3 lose. If a 3 shows, the payoff is 15:1; and your 2 and 12 lose. Note that there are two ways to make a 3 (i.e., 1-2 and 2-1) and only one make to make a 2 (i.e., 1-1) or 12 (i.e., 6-6). Therefore, the payoff for the 3 is half the payoff for the 2 or 12.

The Over 7 and Under 7 bets are rare one-roll bets that you probably won't see unless you play in a lot of different casinos. The Over 7 bet wins if an 8, 9, 10, 11, or 12 shows on the next roll; and loses if any other number shows, including 7. The Under 7 bet wins if a 6, 5, 4, 3, or 2 shows on the next roll; and loses if any other number shows, including 7. The payoff for both bets is 1:1, or even money.

Now you know! Remember, learn how to play casino craps the right way.
